Hip Hop: A Street History
This is one of the greatest rap movies ever released. It goes over the rise of rapping and freestyling from the ghetto to the studios across the world. How rap was once only popular on the street. It takes you back about 25 years to the early days of Africa Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation. DJ's started playing breakbeats, and the people needed an outlet to express themselves at the time, so they started doing spoken poetry. It got increasingly aggressive, which is how it turned into rapping.
