Lil Wayne Hip Hop Music
He grew up in harlem, and his real name is Dwayne carter. His stage name is pretty funny, he calls himself Lil Nigga. Somehow he is a grammy award winning rapper, which I personally find surprising. He joined cash money records as a teen, and started producing lots of rap music which caught on with the crowds and the young fans started to fall in love with hip hop again.
His popularity as a rapper increased with the hip hop album put out in 2004 called tha carter. He was nominated for 8 grammys after the release, which is record breaking in this industry. Interestingly, Lil Wayne is not working on another rap music album, but is venturing into the genre of rock music. He has learned how to play guitar, and is rhyming over his guitar chords and creating new types of songs. Is anybody else surprised about this?
Its uncommon for a hip hop artist to branch out into another style of music, but Lil Wayne is a unique rapper, thats for sure. Many hip hop magazines such as XXL and Source commonly feature Lil Wayne on the cover, and he continues to reach new fans and audiences as an authority for this type of music.
