Have you ever seen the eminem rap movie called 8 mile? This was a true story, and it really hits close to home for many people. He grew up poor and hungry, working in a factory and desiring to become a rapper who could earn a great living doing what he loved. I give him credit, he is a talented rapper who releases excellent rap music in the business.
His real name is marshall bruce mathers, but is known as eminem or slim shady. He started becoming a known rap music artist just before the year 2000, his debut album was called the slim shady lp, and it won a grammy for best rap album! This really started his career, and his popularity grew fast. The next album called the marshall mathers lp was known to be the fastest selling rap album ever released!
Basically once the rap producer dr dre found eminem, his talent found the right platform to get recognized on a big level. He was very talented when he lived in the ghetto, winning rap battles and being known as being an excellent "white rapper." But he wasn't being played on the radio or getting any real attention. Let this be a lesson to people who want to make a living rapping, you need to work hard like eminem until the right producer picks you up and promotes the music with a budget.
